Waterlooville Golf Club near Portsmouth in Hampshire was founded in 1907 when a group of gentlemen met with the aim of forming a golf club in the area. The Club is renowned for its friendly atmosphereand welcome. Our current course was designed by the great Sir Henry Cotton and we welcome visitors during the week (and at weekends subject to availability) to try it out.
Hankley Common Golf Club was first opened for play over nine holes in 1897 (see history). In 1922 James Braid advised on the addition of a further nine holes. Bobby Locke described the course as theclosest resemblance to a seaside links and the famous course architect, Charles Lawrie, once described the course as "one of the best inland layouts in Britain".

We are a small group of avid golfers who formed a company to take over the lease on an unloved and uncared for property in the Spring of 2011. Over this period we have made a number of significantchanges and upgrades to both the golf course and the public facilities. To date all the improvements and updates have been met with numerous positive comments and great enthusiam by those who use our facilities.
