We have 5 Teaching professional all dedicated to helping you with your game weather you are acomplete beginner or advanced golfer. Our Founder and Head of Academy Philip Newnes built the Academy from scratch offering the latest teaching techniques using video analysis. You will recieve clear and concise instruction helping to keep things simple.
Designed by George Lowe this hidden gem is a small, tight and tricky undulating moorland course with 18 tees playing to 9 excellent greens. From the higher holes it provides splendid views across theLancashire basin. The course is in the best shape ever and is only going to get better. This year the club is working in partnership with ISS Services who provide our course management.
Hindley Park, the old hall and estate lands, were purchased for £1,300 in 1721 by Alexander Leigh, a powerful and prosperous man in the Borough of Wigan. He was a Barrister who was variously TownSolicitor, Clerk and Mayor. Whilst never residing in the hall he did exploit the coal reserves and even built the Douglas Navigation Canal to cut the cost of transporting his coal to Liverpool. He eventually sold the canal to the Leeds Liverpool Canal Company becoming the Lancashire section of it.
We are ideally situated for easy access, just a couple of miles from Bolton town centre and three minutes by car from Junction 6 of the M61. With our championship golf course, large practice groundand excellent short game area there is something to suit everyone from the seasoned veteran, to the aspiring young golfer in your family!
Regent Park Golf Course is an 18 hole par 72, 6388 yard parkland course created in 1932. This mature course provides beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and a challenging test for allgolfers. The course has recently been redeveloped by Dave Thomas Architecture Group (successful designer of Ryder Cup and European Tour venues).
Gathurst Golf club is located very close to Jct 27 of the M6 motorway, an 18 hole parkland course with a variation of hole designs to challenge golfers of all abilities. Work is continuous around thecourse, the new open ditch on the 11th hole was added recently, the 5th tee has been re-laid and raised. Golfers will have an altered view, as they survey the pond to the left and out of bounds to the right, where the white stakes of the practice ground loom for the over cautious.
At our golf club, your child will go from complete beginner to having the ability to play 1 golf hole. North West Golf Academy Ltd was formed in August 2010 by PGA Professional Steve Parry and usesthe 27 bay floodlit driving range, Par 3 Academy course and the tremendous 18 hole golf course of Hart Common Golf Centre, which is located in Westhoughton on the border of Bolton and Wigan, just 3 miles from junction 5 on the M61 motorway.
This fantastic championship golf course, measuring a testing 6432 yards, par 72 (white tees), 6042 yards, par 70 (yellow tees) and 5503 yards, par 73 (Ladies red tees) is a true test of golf. The first of the 2 par 4's is one of the toughest holes on the course. From the tee the fairway slopes down into the valley through which Ackhurst Brook runs. Players must play over the brook and uponto the two tiered Mckenzie styled green located on the plateau above. The longest of hitters have an opportunity to drive for the green, however it is extremely risky and a lay-up shot is the sensible choice.
