Clitheroe Golf Club was formed in November 1891 and moved to its present site in 1932. The generosity of the Southworth family made possible the erection of a fine clubhouse building, as well as theestablishment of a full 18 hole course rather than the 9 holes originally planned. Other facilities include a halfway house behind the 9th green and the Southworth room, a modern conference and meeting room overlooking the course.

Here at Rishton Golf Club we used to have a lovely little nine hole golf course until 1982 when Motorway Construction decided that they would take the shortest route from Blackburn to Burnley, Nelson& Colne. They decided that they would use our 8th fairway as a guide and cut right through the middle of it leaving our 7th green and ninth tee a motorway width apart - not good for the members or the business in the clubhouse.

Great Harwood Golf Club is the longest nine-hole layout within the East Lancashire Golf Association. With four par fours to start, the opening holes test a player's ability to drive the ball both longand straight. The par-five fifth is split by a water hazard while the sixth is a par three with five surrounding bunkers that puts a premium on accuracy. A new internal out-of-bounds has made hole seven one of the toughest holes on the course.

Stonyhurst Park Golf Club was formed in 1979, but the history of the golf course and its strong affiliation to Stonyhurst College date back to the 19th century when Walker Cup founder George Walkerwas a Philosophy student at the college. The course is a 9 hole gem, glistening in the heart of the Ribble Valley and Bowland Forest. Picturesque views and tranquil surroundings make the perfect setting for a golf course.
