National Golf Month in May includes hundreds of free coaching sessions at golf clubs across the UK aiming to encourage more people to give golf a go.
Carin played an exhibition game with Joanna Croker, Lady Vice Captain WCGC and Lauren Horsford, 18 years old (Surrey Junior Champion in 2014 & Surrey Ladies Champion). The WAGGS acted as Course Marshalls, and a video crew followed the game as well. Syngenta, one of the sponsors, filmed video of the Ladies of WCGC with Academy members.
Market research in 2014 commissioned by Syngenta revealed that 5% of women in the UK said they would be 'very interested' in taking up golf. However, the research also showed that golf in the UK continues to be perceived as expensive, a sport for older men and requires club membership, potentially putting off new players.
